It Took Two Renovations to Make This Sag Harbor Home Really feel Like Dwelling

To realize a home she would need to maintain perpetually, Maureen primarily constructed a wholly new dwelling related to and located in entrance of her previous one, although that might not be obvious from the outside. It was essential to her to maintain the outside conventional, within the fashion of previous Sag Harbor shingle residences, so the skin was designed and constructed with that conventional fashion in thoughts.

Inside, Maureen designed interiors to really feel calm, snug, and quiet. “I prefer to really feel like whenever you stroll in, [one takes] an enormous deep breath,” she says. “So I used quite a lot of whites, calm colours, and a few wooden tones.” She paired these hues with splashes of black. “I like black; black is my favourite coloration,” she says. “I take advantage of black as a lot as I can with out having it really feel too harsh or too chilly.”

BEFORE: The yellow was not a part of the palette Maureen desired.
